Tuition
The low tuition charged for this program is one of its big attractions. At (currently) $226.88 per credit hour, FHSU has one of the lower tuition rates in the country, even compared to "in-state" tuition at many state universities. It certainly appears to have the lowest tuition of any comparable online BSCS degree program.
Financial Aid
FHSU offers the same standard types of financial aid options as any other state university, including scholarships, grants, and loans. Obviously, because of the low tuition of this program, any financial aid you receive will go further than it would if the tuition were higher. Be aware that you would need to take at least two classes per standard semester (Fall and Spring) to qualify for federal student loans. You can read more about FHSU's Financial Aid options at the official Financial Aid page.
Income Boost
Unless you already work in a very well-paid profession, you should expect an income boost from attaining this degree, if not immediately then at least eventually. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics currently lists the median pay for a software developer at $110,114 per year ($52.95 per hour). While your starting salary as a junior developer straight out of school would most likely be significantly lower than that, there is a good chance that you will eventually reach that median. Depending on how much you make now and whether you actually land a software developer job, this degree could pay for itself very quickly.
